This is the museum built at the front of Fort Harrod. This is after removing the orange paint/stain seen to the right.
The Mansion Museum is one of the oldest Greek Revival homes built in Kentucky. Inside its impressive structure, the museum displays Civil War history, a one of a kind McIntosh Gun collection, paintings, documents, music collections, Lincoln memorabilia, Native American artifacts, and much more. The William Whitley home is the oldest brick home in the state of Kentucky. When this restoration was done the state specified use of US Heritage Mortar, a true lime putty mortar, identical to the original. This project won the AGC Award for Restoration Under $5 Million as a sub-contractor.

The pattern in the masonry is once again obvious after the cleaning is complete. The project using lime putty and partnering with US Heritage Mortars was a great learning experience. Thanks again.
